Working as a hooker her only option, young woman tells court
Working as a prostitute was “the only route” to take, said a Guelph woman while testifying in [a prostitution] trial Monday.
She told a Guelph Superior courtroom that she approached [the accused] in 2008 about becoming an escort, since she knew his ex-girlfriends had worked in the industry. One of his ex’s offered advice on which sites to use and that kicked off the business, said the woman who can not be identified due to a publication ban.

The woman in her twenties, called as a defence witness, told court she chose to work as a prostitute because she could not hold onto a job and people had tried to get her into the industry before.
“I was capable of dealing with it,” she said about the difficulties of the work.
Eventually, her business relationship and friendship with [the accused] turned into a personal relationship, where she describes [the accused] as having an “obsessive interest” in her. It became difficult for her to live and work with [him], so she left his home.
